The Dinokeng Private Reserve, officially opened in 2011, is situated just north of Pretoria. This is the newest "Big 5" reserve and presently includes 40 000 hectares of land which is stocked with a young population of diverse game and bird species. It is malaria free and is less than 60 minutes from OR Tambo Intl. Airport and 40 minutes from Pretoria.

    At Sunset Bush Camp there are 3 challets and 4 safari tents to choose from, all self catering. The challets and tents all have private bathrooms. The tents make use of a communal kitchen whilst the challets have their own catering facilities. The lodge is fenced off for protection from wild animals.


    The reserve has a "self drive" route with demarcated picnic spots along 110km network of dirt roads. There are bird hides at some of the dams. Game drives in an open vehicle are available for guests as well as a photography game vehicle for those guests partaking in photography activities.
